Opzwepende milongas, groovy tango’s en gevoelige canciones wisselen elkaar af. De gepassioneerde musici spelen eigen composities en werk van onder meer Astor Piazzolla en Mercedes Sosa. Nuevo Nocturna heeft een warme sound, vol improvisatie en uniek samenspel.
Sinds 2007 heeft Nuevo Nocturna honderden optredens gegeven in Nederland, Duitsland en België. Ze wonnen de Doble ocho prijs en de El choclo prijs voor zelf gecomponeerde, dansbare tangomuziek. Het ensemble is ontstaan vanuit de opleiding Argentijnse tango aan het Rotterdams conservatorium, een smeltkroes van muzikale inspiratie.

Since 2007, the ensemble has given hundreds of performances in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. Their talent has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Doble ocho prize and the El choclo prize for their danceable, self-composed tango music. The ensemble emerged from the Argentinian tango department of the Rotterdam Conservatory, a dynamic place of musical inspiration and creativity.
